The People in Our Neighborhood: Twigs & Leaves

In March of 2006, Roser Park residents Michael Manlowe and Phillippe Piquet opened the doors to their Florida native nursery, Twigs & Leaves, located just across from the neighborhood.

Their nursery provides the perfect solution to St. Petersburg’s micro-climate which often makes for a cool, yet dry fall, spring and winter conditions. It is during these seasons when St. Petersburg can seem much more like Southern California than Southern Florida.

We talked to them about their business and how their selection of plants and eco friendly gardening products can make for a landscape that’s easy to manage and maintain.

Located on the corner of Martin Luther King Street, or 9th Street, and 10th Avenue South, Twigs & Leaves is open Thursday through Tuesday, and closed Wednesdays.
